The Andalusia Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event at 6 tonight, Tues., October 2.

The community-building campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

As in the past, the free event is set for Opp Avenue, and will begin at 6 p.m. Activities include inflatables, raffles, face painting, a talent contest, and an opportunity to meet first responders.

The talent contest is open to ages 6 and up. Sign-up begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. There is no entry fee, but prizes will be awarded in two age groups.

The Junior Service League will have concessions available.
