Guido Frick will return to Andalusia this month for a three-day plein air painting class.

Plein air painting, is a phrase borrowed from the French equivalent meaning “open (in full) air.” As in the past, Frick’s students will paint an outdoor scene each day.

Local artist Liz Reid is coordinating his visit, and the classes. Frick will arrive on Sat., Oct. 20, and determine the locations for his 2018 classes. Students will gather for a meet and greet on Sun., Oct. 21, and outdoor classes are planned on Mon., Tues., and Wed., Oct. 22, 23 and 24. A reception also will honor Frick and his students on Tuesday evening.

The German-born artist said he treasures his time in the United States, and particularly enjoys painting the colors of fall.

He spends six months each year in the United States, and will travel throughout the country, producing workshops from California to Florida.
