Rain near normal in September, down YTD

Slightly more than three inches of rain were recorded at Yellow River on Hwy. 55 for the entire month of September, according to data released from the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority this week.

That was only slightly less than the amount – 3.20 inches – recorded there in the same period last year. Year to date, 39.52 inches was recorded at that location through September, as compared to 51.72 inches in the same period last year.

Farther upstream, at the Yellow River on Hwy. 84, 5.0 inches of rain was recorded in September, compared to only 3.02 inches in September of last year.

Year to date, the Choc-Pea Authority has recorded 56.62 inches of rain there, compared to 61.60 last year.
