Covington County’s Relay for Life committee will announce major changes to the American Cancer Society fundraiser in an organizational meeting set for 6 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 23.

“We are changing Relay up and ‘Taking it to the Streets,’ committee member Randi Bozeman said. “The venue, ceremony, activities…really everything is changing and this year’s committee is so excited and hard at work to make this the best year ever.”

Bozeman said any business, organization, or group of people, who want to do something to make a difference in the community are invited to attend and learn more about Relay.

“We will have yummy carnival foods and drinks and we will be providing lots of information on all of our changes that we have planned for this year,” Bozeman said.

The group has set a goal of 20 teams who can collectively raise $80,000.

The meeting is set for the USDA/Covington County 4H building in front of the Kiwanis Building.
