The Pleasant Home Eagles didn’t give up, but the fell to Georgiana 40-0 on Friday night in Pleasant Home.

“There wasn’t much to it,” Pleasant Home head coach Rick Mercer said. “They are a very good team. We got the ball to start the game and had to punt, but we got a turnover on the punt. We then moved the ball down to the 6-yard line, but weren’t able to get it in. A few minutes later and they went up 6-0. They are a really good team and we couldn’t stop them.”

Mercer said he still like some things that he saw.

“The guys didn’t quite,” Mercer said. “Late in the game, and we still had guys flying to the ball.”
