STILL FIGHTING FOR A SPOT: Red Level hopes to rebound after tough loss

The Red Level Tigers (4-2, 3-1) have a chance to clinch a playoff spot with a victory over Brantley (3-3, 2-2) on Friday in Brantley.

“We have to get back to being us,” Red Level head coach Kenny Skipper said. “That was a really big game for us on Friday against Florala and we made a lot of mistakes.”

Skipper said that wasn’t the type of performance he wanted to see from his team.

“That was so out of character for us,” Skipper said. “We just made a lot of mental mistakes and had issues in spots that we haven’t had issues in all year. We feel like if we play our game, we are capable of playing with anyone on our schedule.”

Red Level still has a chance to make the playoffs, but will have to beat either Brantley, Georgiana or Elba.

“Brantley is a good team,” Skipper said. “It’s going to be a tough game, but we have the ability to play with them. We just have to get back to doing what we do”

Red Level has outscored their opponents 181-168 this season.

Brantley has outscored their opponents 142-102 this season.

After winning four-straight games, Red Level ran into a buzz saw last week as they fell to Florala 68-26.

Brantley opened up the season with three-straight wins, but has fallen the past three weeks including a 26-2 loss last week to Elba.

Kickoff between Red Level and Brantley is set for 7 p.m., on Friday in Brantley.
