Members of Andalusia Isshinryu Karate picked up big finishes recently at the Gulf Coast Martial Arts Championships held at Gordon’s Martial Arts in Crestview.

Nathan Rooker was on top of his game as he picked up three first place finishes in intermediate weapons, kata and fighting.

Jacob Jerningan had a strong day as he came home with a first place finish in brown belt weapons and kata.

Kyle Burgans came out big with a first place finish in brown belt fighting. Burgans also had a third place finish in brown belt weapons.

Jarod Jernigan had a solid outing as he came back with a third place finish in brown belt kata.

“We had a very strong showing,” Andalusia Isshinryu instructor and owner said. “It was especially strong considering our brown belts competed in the same division.”

All these competitors are students of Mark Rudd at Andalusia Isshinryu Karate, located beside the USA Gym and Fitness Center.
