Straughn falls in hard-fought game

The Straughn Lady Tigers played their hearts out, but went down 3-0 to T.R. Miller on Thursday at the Super Regional tournament in Montgomery.

GAME ONE
T.R. MILLER 25, STRAUGHN 12

In the opening game of the series, T.R. Miller built an early lead and held on for a 25-12 victory.

T.R. Miller went up 7-0 before a kill from Allie Kelley put the Lady Tigers on the board.

GAME TWO

T.R. MILLER 25, STRAUGHN 21

Straughn came back strong in the second game, but T.R. Miller was able to pull away at the end for a 25-21 victory.

Both teams battled back-and-forth before a late surge from T.R. Miller pushed them to victory.

GAME THREE

T.R. MILLER 25, STRAUGHN 12

T.R. Miller showed why they are one of the best teams in the state as they sealed the three-game sweep with a 25-12 victory in game three.

“I’m proud of these girls,” Straughn head coach Daniel Rodgers said. “Half the teams in the state didn’t get to make it to this far. They truly got better as they year went on. I want to thank Laura (Blatz), our senior, for all she has done for this program.”
