FHS’s season comes to an end

The Florala Lady Wildcats played with all their hearts, but found their season over after falling to the Sweetwater Lady Bulldogs 3-0 on Friday at the South Super Regional tournament at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
GAME ONE
SWEETWATER 25, FLORALA 18
The Lady Wildcats put in a strong effort, but fell to Sweetwater 25-12 in the opening game of the series.
Florala scored first to get the game started, but Sweetwater rolled back to take a 10-5 lead.
The Lady Wildcats cut into the Sweetwater lead with a solid block from Jenna Goolsby.
A little while later, Goolsby got a big kill to leave the Lady Wildcats trailing 16-12.
Florala kept the game close with a key block from MaKayla Parker to time the Sweetwater lead down to 21-18.
However, Sweetwater picked up the next four points to pick up the win.
GAME TWO
SWEETWATER 25, FLORALA 15
Florala went up early in game two before Sweetwater fought back to earn a 25-15 victory.
The Lady Wildcats jumped out front with the first point of the game before falling behind 4-2.
Goolsby picked up a kill to make the score 4-3 and then later gave the Lady Wildcats a 6-5 lead with an ace.
A few points later, Goolsby added another ace to put the Lady Wildcats on top 8-5.
Sweetwater battled back and was able to come away with a 25-12 victory.
GAME THREE
SWEETWATER 25, FLORALA 17
Florala once again started off strong and quickly built a 3-0 lead over Sweetwater.
Both teams continued to battle back-and-forth with the lead changing hands several times throughout the game.
Meredith Parker, Hannah Goodwin, Kaitlyn Howell, Jerilyn Kemp, Goolsby and Ma. Parker each contributed strong play to keep the Lady Wildcats in the contest.
Sweetwater put together a modest run to go up 16-12 midway through the match.
Goodwin got a strong kill to cut Sweetwater’s lead down to 19-15.
The Lady Wildcats continued to play strong, but fell 25-17 to Sweetwater in game three.
