Auditions for a spring production of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical Mamma Mia! have been set for November 13 and 15 at Andalusia Elementary School.

This lively, fast-paced musical featuring the music of ABBA, will be presented by Andalusia City Schools in conjunction with ACT I on March 16 and 17, 2019, and will be a community production led by Cathy and Roger Powell. The cast consists of six women, seven men and a choral ensemble.

Auditions are open for persons 9th grade and older (including community adults). All cast members must be able to sing and dance and must commit to a rehearsal schedule from January through mid-March. A first run-through for all cast members will be held within a two week period following Thanksgiving, date and time to be announced. For audition purposes, no prepared musical pieces are necessary.

At auditions, potential cast members will participate in a cold reading, group and individual singing, and dance steps that will be taught at that time.

Auditions are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, and on Thursday, November 15, 2018, in the gym of Andalusia Elementary School. The only access to the gym will be from the back (east) parking lot. Please use the outside gym doors only. The parking lot is reached by entering the southernmost drive on Hwy 29 and driving to the rear of the school.
