Trick-or-treat hours set, caution urged

It’s almost time for trick-or-treating, and Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson reminds locals who want to participate to respect the hours set in each community, and to follow basic safety rules.
- Trick or Treat in neighborhoods and at houses you are familiar with.
- Make sure your mask does not obscure your vision.
- Carry a flashlight if you’re going to be out after dark.
- Do not walk in the streets. Stay on the sidewalks.
- Be very careful crossing the streets and watch for on-coming traffic.
- Let your parents check your treats to make sure they are safe before eating them.
- Parents, do not let small children Trick or Treat on their own.
- Drivers: watch for Trick or Treater crossing the streets.
- Do not block traffic by parking the in middle of the street.
- Drive slower than the speed limit so you will have time to see and react.
Hours set
The City of Andalusia has set official trick-or-treating hours for 6 until 8 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 31.
The City of Opp has set trick-or-treating hours for 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 31.
Trick or Treat in Florala will be on Tuesday, October 30, from 6-8 p.m.
Lockhart’s fun in the part event is set from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30.
