The Opp Lady Bobcats are set to compete today in the 2018 Class 3A state volleyball tournament at CrossPlex Birmingham.

Last week, the Lady Bobcats knocked off Saks and Thomasville in the South Super Regional tournament in Montgomery to secure a spot in the state tournament.

This is the first time in school history that the Lady Bobcats have advanced past the Super Regionals.

Opp didn’t fare as well in the seeding tournament at the South Regionals and will be the No. 4 seed for out of the south to start the state tournament.

The Lady Bobcats begin the tournament today at 12:30 p.m., when they take on Carbon Hill.

Carbon Hill is the No. 1 seed out of the north.

Other Class 3A state volleyball action will include South No. 1 Montgomery Academy against North No. 4 Glencoe at 8 a.m.

North No. 2 Lexington against South No. 3 T.R. Miller at 8 a.m.

South No. 2 Houston Academy against North No. 3 Geraldine at 12:30 p.m.

If the Lady Bobcats win, they will play the winner between Montgomery Academy and Glencoe today at 3:30 p.m.

Montgomery Academy beat Opp 3-0 in regional play.
