The Andalusia Adult Activity Center is selling Krispy Kreme cards, coupons and donuts in an effort to raise money for their “Love Garden.”

“Our goal is to get a couple more plants, trees, benches and a fence around the garden,” Program director Sonja Godwin said. “A couple of families have pitched in and donated a bench, but we need to add some more things.”

The “Love Garden” is a project that Godwin started that honors the loss of loved ones.

“We wanted a way for seniors to go outside and sit and take in nature,” Godwin said. “We ask for donations to be for loved ones that have been lost. The garden will be a way for our seniors to be in a group environment and enjoy being outdoors.”

Godwin hopes that one day when the garden is finished, that the seniors will be able to help maintain it.

The Krispy Kreme Donut cards are available now and will be $20. They each have 10 stickers on the card that customers can redeem to buy a dozen donuts and get a dozen glazed donuts for free.

Coupons will be $8 and can be redeemed at any participating Krispy Kreme.

The Adult Activity Center is also taking pre-paid orders for donuts to be available for pick-up on Thurs., Dec. 13, around 8 a.m.

The center will also deliver if there is a purchase of 10 or more boxes.

“If you pre-pay, all you have to do is drive up and pick up your donuts,” Godwin said.

All proceeds from the donut sale will go towards the “Love Garden” at the Adult Activity Center.

If anyone would like to make only a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one, the center will have forms available.
