Traffic stops lead to 2 drug arrests

Two traffic stops by the Gantt Police Department on Mon., Nov. 5, on Hwy. 29 led to the arrest of two men on drug charges.
Gantt Police Officer Tyler Patterson conducted both stops for traffic violations.
David Franklin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and placed in the Covington County Jail after Patterson recovered a glass-smoking device containing methamphetamine, and a vile containing methamphetamine. Franklin is being held on a $13,000 bond.
In a separate incident, Randall Kilpatrick was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and placed in the Covington County Jail after Officer Patterson Patterson recovered glass-smoking devices containing methamphetamine and a rolled cigar containing synthetic controlled substance (synthetic marijuana) from Kilpatrick’s vehicle. Kilpatrick is being held on a $13,000 bond.
