Karate students land top honors

Several members of the Andalusia Isshinryu Karate competed and came away with big wins at the World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization’s Southeast Region Open held at the Dothan Civic Center.

The tournament was hosted by Shihan Mike Culberth of Dothan.

Braydon Walker proved to at the top of his division as he came away with first place finishes in yellow belt weapons, kata and fighting.

Ashton Bailey came away with a first place finish in green belt weapons, second place in fighting and third place in kata.

Brianna Walker also had big day as she picked up a first place win in yellow belt fighting and second place in kata.

Kinsley Bailey had a strong showing and came home with a second place finish in yellow belt weapons and a third place finish in kata.

Johnathan Rudd made short work of the competition as he picked up second place finishes in yellow belt weapons, kata and fighting.

Nathan Rooker showed solid effort as he came home with a third place finish in green belt fighting.

Landon Caldwell rounded out the finishers with a first place finish in youth black belt fighting.
