Christmas came a little early for the Andalusia City Council Tuesday when Councilman Kennith Mount, who also serves on the board of Southeast Gas, delivered a check for $359,519 to the city.

Southeast Gas is owned by 14 municipalities, each of which has equal representation on the company’s board of directors. Each year, the company distributes profits back to its municipalities. Mount said this year, the board distributed a total of $3.7 million.

The distribution was $69,000 more in 2018 than in 2017.
