Cast named for spring production of ‘Mamma Mia’

Katie King and Cathy Powell have been cast in the lead roles in the Andalusia production of “MAMMA MIA!,” set for March of 2019.

Co-director Roger Powell said recent auditions revealed a large number of talented individuals and the cast has now been set.   

“MAMMA MIA” is the story of a bride-to be (Sophie, played by King) trying to find her real father, told using hit songs by the 1970s group ABBA.  The 2008 movie version starred Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Amanda Seyfried.

The local production will be presented by the Andalusia City Schools in conjunction with ACT I (Andalusia Community Theatre) and is being directed by Roger and Cathy Powell.

The local performances are set for  Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, 2019,  at 2:30 p.m.
