ANNA WANETA JOHNSON

Mrs. Anna Waneta Johnson, 95, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Nov. 23, 2018, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wed., Nov. 28, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jay Driver officiating the service. The interment will follow later in the day at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Ala. Visitation was one hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Charlotte Johnson of Andalusia, Michael and Kim Johnson of Cordova, Ili., Jeffrey Johnson of Riverton, Ili.; two daughters, Karen Blackwell of Houston, Texas, Rita Book of College Station, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Creighton Johnson; a sister; one granddaughter; and a great grandson.

TIMOTHY EUGENE FRANKLIN

Mr. Timothy Eugene Franklin, age 59, of Rose Hill, Ala., passed away on Sat., Nov. 24, 2018, in Andalusia Hospital after an extended illness.

Tim was a 1978 graduate of Straughn High School. He was a hardworking person who loved his family, music, and his guitar. Tim was an avid Alabama fan, and he was dedicated to studying the WWII Bomb Squadron, which his father served in during the war.

A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m., on Mon., Nov. 26, in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing the service.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Erica and Wade Holmes of Savannah, Ga.; brothers and sister-in-law, Allan Franklin of Straughn and Terry and Debbie Franklin of Wetumpka, Ala.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry Biggs of Mobile, Ala., Karen and Randy McGlaun of Rose Hill, Ala., and Diane and Steve Tucker of Straughn; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Jewel Franklin; brothers, Andy Franklin, Kenneth Franklin, and Craig Franklin; and his grandmother, Winnie Butler.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials be made to Cancer Freeze in Florala, Ala.

SUE MAYNARD RAWLS

Mrs. Sue Maynard Rawls, age 82, of Gantt Lake, passed away on Sun., Nov. 25, 2018, at UAB in Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wed., Nov. 28, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wayne Sharpe and Reverend Doyle Prescott officiating the service, interment will follow in Rawls Cemetery.  Visitation was Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Connie Kelley of Opp and Lisa and Clyde Walker of Brantley; grandchildren, Dawn (Jason) Mack, Carrie (Keith) Odom, Dustin (Melanie) Creel, Freeman Walker, Robin (Chris) Pierce, Scott Kelley, and Steven (Karen) Kelley; 10 great grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Byrd Holloway of Montgomery.

She is preceded in death by her parents, T.H. “Tot” and Era Maynard; husband, William F. “Billy” Rawls; nephew, Lee Holloway; and son-in-law, Qunion Kelley.

Mrs. Leathell Voncile  Varner

Mrs. Leathell  Voncile  Varner went to be with the Lord at the Florala Nursing Facility on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She was 91.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle. The Rev. John Hunt will officiate and special music will be provided by the Rev. Travis Day. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Keahey Funeral Home. Interment will  follow  in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in Conecuh County. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her daughters, Theresa (Rev. John) Hunt of Andalusia; Judy Phillips of Madison, Florida; and Lequita Smith of Andalusia; grandchildren, Michael (Leigh) Smith, Joseph Wheeler, John (Kassie) Wheeler, Michelle (Tony) Gay, Mindy (Rev. Travis) Day, Jeremy Hunt; great-grandchildren, Addy, Emmy, Lilly Smith; Lance, James, Kristie Wheeler; Jared and Olivia Gay and Carver Jude Day; brother and sister-in-law, Mack (Mary Lou) Riley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Varner; sister, Marie Presley, and a brother, Joseph Riley. She was a lifelong member of Andalusia Full Gospel Tabernacle. Her hobby was “her grandchildren.”

Mary Theresa Jernigan Beasley

Mrs. Mary Theresa Jernigan Beasley, of McKenzie, formerly of Andalusia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at her home. She was 45.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Father Frances Miller will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Church of Nazarene Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Wade Beasley of McKenzie;  her children, Nicholas Reed Beasley, Joseph Wade Beasley and Anthony Paul “Tony” Beasley, all of McKenzie; parents, Charles Lester Jernigan and Anne Katherine Jernigan of Andalusia; brothers, Eddie (Anita) Jernigan of Andalusia; Michael (Julia) Jernigan of Andalusia; Charles Joseph Jernigan of Andalusia; Daniel Joseph Jernigan of Kansas; sisters, Catherine (Tommy) Sasser of Andalusia; Jennifer Owens of Andalusia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Hooks, Joseph Jernigan, Nicholas Beasley, Chandler Hatch, Eddie Jernigan, Tommy Sasser.

She loved to cook and enjoyed outdoor barbeques. She was a talented dog handler and had worked several years with Andalusia (Tom Ryder’s) Physical Therapy.
