Danny Taylor was among the Shaw associates chosen to speak to the media and give tours of Plant 65 during the celebration of its $250 million investment into a state-of-the-art facility.

Taylor, who helps train employees, was more than qualified for the task. After all, he’s been a Shaw employee for 31 years.

The expansion has been a big success, he said, adding that associates are excited about the changes.

“Most importantly, because we know this company will be here with opportunities for our children and grandchildren,” he said.

In addition to giving Shaw a competitive edge in the manufacturing of carpet fibers, he said, the new equipment means Shaw is a more ergonomic workplace.

“The new equipment in our twisting operation is the only equipment of its kind in the United States,” Taylor said.

The company employs more than 1,000 associates at Plant 65, and is the largest employer in Covington County.
