The Straughn Middle School eighth grade boys picked up a 29-25 win over the Red Level Tigers on Wednesday night in Florala during the Covington County Junior High basketball tournament.

Straughn grabbed the lead right out of the gate with a big 3-pointer.

Straughn built a 17-9 lead going into halftime, but Red Level came charging back in the second half.

Red Level tied the game 20-20 before Straughn’s Brody Stewart took over and carried the Tigers to victory.

With the win, Straughn advances to the eighth grade championship tonight at 6 against Pleasant Home.
