The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans picked up a 64-24 over the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs in varsity girls’ action.

Playing without their star player (Maori Davenport), the Lady Trojans were still able to pick a big win.

Davenport is facing a year suspension after receiving money while playing for Team USA this summer in Mexico.

High school players playing for teams like Team USA are allowed to make $250 a week during international play, but a clerical error by Team USA sent her checks for $300 (which is the amount the NCAA allows players to make per week during international play).

Davenport was 1-of-2 players on Team USA that had high school eligibility remaining.

Davenport has appealed the decision and ruling is expected to be made Tuesday morning.

If she wins the appeal, Davenport will be eligible to play that very night, but if the she loses the appeal, her high school career would be over.

ESPN has Davenport as a Top 15 player for the Class of 2019.

She was runner-up for Miss Basketball last year and recently signed with Rutgers.

In Friday’s game, the Lady Bulldogs went up to start the contest, but the Lady Trojans quickly took complete control of the contest.

At halftime, Charles Henderson was on top 50-10.

The Lady Trojans called off the dogs in the second half, but still managed to come away with a 64-24 victory.

Symone Reid led the Lady Bulldogs eight points.
