SHAKING OFF THE RUST: Charles Henderson fights off Andy comeback

The Andalusia Bulldogs gave a strong effort, but fell 63-47 to Charles Henderson on Friday night in Andalusia.
Charles Henderson came out of the gate firing on all cylinders as the quickly went up 6-0.
Andalusia got on the board when Elijah McClain dropped in a bucket.
A few minutes later, Franklin Osario scored and then Keaun Samuel picked up a basket to cut the Trojan lead down to 11-6.
The Trojans hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first to take a 14-6 lead into the second period.
McClain got the Bulldogs going in the second period with a bucket.
Bry Burnett followed with a 3-pointer as Andalusia cut the lead down to 14-11.
Patrick McCorvey came through with a pair of free throws and then another basket from McClain put the Bulldogs down 17-16.
Samuel then gave the Bulldogs an 18-17 lead .
Charles Henderson took the lead back, but then a 3-pointer from Roosevelt Weaver put Andalusia up 21-19.
The Trojans turned it up at the end of the second period and took a 31-21 lead into hafltime.
Andalusia continued to battle into the third period, but Charles Henderson was able to extend the lead to 44-30 going into the final frame.
Andalusia got big buckets Luis Reyes and Weaver down the stretch, but Charles Henderson was able to hold on for a 63-47 victory.
“We really showed how far we’ve got to go as a team,” Andalusia head coach Brad Goldman said. “A lot of that has to do with rust, but we aren’t going to sit here and make excuses. That proved to us right now that we are not where we need to be, but we are going to get in there and get it right.”
Samuel led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
McClain and Weaver finished the game with nine points each.
