Heavy rainfall recorded in November

It didn’t just seem like November was a wet month – data collected by the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority shows November was one of the rainiest months this year.

The Choc-Pea Authority recorded 5.48 inches of rain at Yellow River on Hwy. 55 for the entire month of November, compared to less than an inch in the same time period there last year. However, year to date totals are down 10 inches from the same period last year. Year to date, 47.12 inches were recorded at that location through November, as compared to 57.52 inches in the same period last year.

Farther upstream, at the Yellow River on Hwy. 84, 6.30 inches of rain was recorded in November, compared to 1 inch in November of last year.

Year to date, the Choc-Pea Authority has recorded 66.42 inches of rain there, compared to 70.78 last year.
