AHS comeback attempt falls short

The Andalusia Bulldogs made a strong second half comeback, but came up short in a 64-55 loss to Dale County on Friday in Andalusia.
Dale County opened up the game with authority and quickly built a 10-0 lead in the first period.
Patrick McCorvey picked up the first bucket of the game for the Bulldogs and then Franklin Osorio knocked down a trey to close the gap to 10-5.
The Bulldogs cut the lead down to 12-9 midway through the first with buckets from Elijah McClain and McCorvey.
At the end of the first period, Dale County was on top 19-11.
Luis Reyes opened up the scoring for the Bulldogs in the second period, but Dale County continued to build their lead as they went up 28-13.
Reyes added six more points in the period and McClain added two as the Bulldogs trailed 36-23 at halftime.
Reyes got the first bucket of the second half, but Dale County answered with a 3-pointer to go up 39-25.
Reyes and McClain picked up the remainder of the third period points for the Bulldogs, but Dale County held a 52-37 lead heading into the final period.
McClain opened up the fourth period with back-to-back buckets.
Reyes followed with a basket of his own to cut the Dale County lead down to 52-43.
The Bulldogs continued to put up a strong fight throughout the fourth period, but were unable to get any closer than nine points of Dale County’s lead.
Dale County held off the Bulldog comeback for a 64-55 victory.
Reyes led the Bulldogs with 23 points.
