Events on tap for New Year’s Eve

Still looking for a place to ring in the New Year? Here are some places that are having events near Andalusia:

• The City of Andalusia will have its annual Domino Drop on Mon., Dec. 31, from 6 p.m., until 8 p.m., at the Court Square. There will be live music, family fun and Candyland cottage play.

• Boggs and Boulders Off Road Park and Campground will have their Annual New Year Event/Ride starting today and lasting until Dec. 30. They will have fireworks and a D.J. starting after dark on Sat., Dec. 29. They will also have their regular treasure chest hunt during the ride. • Charley’s Place in Opp will have their New Year’s Extravaganza on Mon., Dec. 31, from 7 p.m., until 4 a.m. There will be drink specials, prizes and D.J. Second Chance spinning tunes until the cows come home.

• The City of Brewton will have its annual Blueberry Drop on  New Year’s Eve with festivities beginning at 8:30 p.m. The event features live music from local bands, vendors, hot chocolate, train rides and more will be in store for those who attend. Voltage Cowboys will take the stage at 9 p.m., and the blueberry will drop at midnight. The event will be at Jennings Park. Admission is free.

• Downtown Dothan will have a New Year’s Eve Downtown Countdown starting at 8 p.m. They will have two stages for music, one on South Foster Street and the other on North Foster Street in Dothan. They will have live music from Montage on North Foster Street and Los Locos and Kane and the Saints on the South Foster Street Stage. There will also be a balloon drop, free kids zone and fireworks.

• For fans of Kirk Jay, who was on NBC’s “The Voice,” he will be live in Montgomery at B.B. King’s Blues Club on New Year’s Eve. The club, located inside Wind Creek Casino & Hotel, will host the Kirk Jay Band at 11 p.m. The band had played at the club for months before Jay’s time on “The Voice.” Makenzie Thomas and Patrique Fortson, both former “Voice” contestants, will open for the band at 10 p.m. General admission tickets (standing room only) are $35. A table for two is $100 and a table for four is $150. The table price includes admission and one bottle of house champagne. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with Sunset East performing at 6 p.m.
