Looking back: Local readers interested in food service!

review of stories that got the most views on The Star-News’ website in 2018 shows that we really care about food.

Among the most-read stories was the August announcement Jack’s is located in Andalusia in February (4,634 page views).

An announcement in March that Piggly Wiggly would open in the former Winn Dixie location also drew heavy traffic, as did the announcement in May that Cost Plus was closing.

Another top story for 2018 was the announcement that the Buckboard, located on Gantt Lake, was reopening.

The story headlined “Buckboard is back but with a Louisiana twist” got 2,696 page views in late March.

“Javatime opening in March” also got heavy traffic in February.

In other food news, Arby’s closed in the fall for a total renovation. The restaurant was gutted, but reopened with a new look the week after Christmas.
