Low Country Boil to raise funds for meal outreach

Published 2:47 am Saturday, January 5, 2019

After putting away all the Christmas decorations and finishing up the holiday foods, how about treating yourself to a taste of the South Carolina Low Country?  No need to mess up your kitchen or clean up afterwards.  Let First Presbyterian Church handle this for you.

It is time for the annual Low Country Boil scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2019, in the church fellowship hall located at 223 South Three Notch Street across from the Andalusia Public Library.  From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. you can dine in or take out a bountiful meal of boiled gulf shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes, along with slaw, bread, dessert and drink.  All of this for the very low price of $20 per plate, and no clean-up on your part is involved!

In the past, the proceeds from this event have gone to help fund a number of community projects.  This year the proceeds will be directed to the church’s Love Thy Neighbor meal ministry.  In existence for more than five years, Love Thy Neighbor provides a monthly breakfast and lunch, free of charge, to anyone in need of food or fellowship… no questions asked or ID required.

Tickets are available in the church office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m..  For more information contact the church at 334-222-5352 or andyfpc@centurytel.net.
