In the opening game, the Lady Wildcats held off the Lady Tigers for a 44-41 win.
“We’ve played better basketball,” Florala head coach David Bass said. “They did a good job defending our leading scorers, but everyone else on the team stepped up to the plate and hit big shots. Jerilyn Kemp hit a really big 3 in the fourth that really shifted the momentum. We’ve got some minor things that we need to work on before we hit the court again, but I am proud of the way that our girls are playing.”
Sharae Coleman led the Lady Wildcats with 11 points and Meredith Parker added nine points.
