Opp falls in tough area battle

The Opp Bobcats fell to 1-2 in area play after coming up just short in a 60-58 loss to Geneva on Friday night in Geneva.
Both teams came out on a mission as they traded the lead back-and-forth in the opening frame.
Geneva was up 16-12 at the end of the first period.
The Bobcats battled back in the second period as they were able to take a 29-26 lead into halftime.
Coming out of halftime, both teams picked up right were they left off, and Opp was on top 44-42 heading into the final period.
Geneva came out with a blistering pace in the fourth period as they outscore the Bobcats 18-14 in the final period on their way to a 60-58.
Erik Matthew led the Bobcats with 18 points.
Caleb Hinton had a strong night as he finished with 14 points.
Damion Kermmerlin led Geneva with 20 points.
