2019 Cancer Freeze Schedule

Sat., Feb. 2
• 7 a.m. – Noon: Fishing Tourney $50 per boat (2 people per boat) contact Richard Reeves at 850-652-3516 to enter. Participants receive t-shirt. *weigh-in at noon
• 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Pancake & Sausage Breakfast. Plates are $5 per person, kids 10 and under eat free with adult (inside building) Manned by members of FBC, Florala
• 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.: LifeSouth blood/platelet drive in loving memory of Terry Hughes
• 8:45 a.m.: All 5k participants meet at amphitheater for National Anthem performed by Charity Bowden. Meet back after race for awards.
• 9 a.m.: 5k starts at airplane. Finish line is marked on Lake Shore Blvd. Register online at https://register.chronotrack.com/r/40641. Pre-register includes t-shirt & goody bag. $30 entry fee Sponsored by Merrifield and Pilcher Realty.
• Kid’s Fun Run begins at finish line immediately following 5k. ½ mile run – will return to finish line. Register day of event only.
• 9 a.m.: Tiny B’s Cake Sale, in loving memory of Tiny McDaniel, manned by members of First United Methodist Church of Florala (inside.)
• 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Inflatables for the kids provided by Spacewalk of Andalusia (Parents must stay with children) There is no fee, but donations will be gladly accepted to benefit the six Cancer Freeze recipients.
• 10 a.m.: T.J.’s Tiger Flight balloon release in loving memory of TJ Fleming are $3 each or two for $5. They will release every hour on the hour with church bells. Sponsored by Dorothy’s House of Flowers.
• 10 a.m.: Opening Ceremonies at amphitheater (meet past & present recipients, 5k awards will follow.)
• 10 a.m.: Car Show located on 4th Street, one block west of lake building. Organized by John and Kim Adams and assistance provided by the Shoal River Mustang Club. Contact cfcarshow@outlook.com for more info. $25 entry fee includes t-shirt. Awards will be at 1pm. The Little Smoke House will be located at Dorothy’s House of Flowers selling barbeque.
• 10:30 a.m.: Shave Your Lid for a Kid is $10 per person and people under the age of 18 must have parent consent. Cuts will be by Amanda and Devin of Cuts n’ Curls.
• 11 a.m.: Chili Cook-Off. People can vote with their spare change. The winner is the pot with most money. (inside building) Organized by Betty Sims 850-826-4562.
• Noon: Water Ski Events. $25 fee includes t-shirt. Sign ups begin 11:45 and people under the age of 18 need a parental consent.
• 1 p.m.: Live Auction begins inside building. The raffle drawing will be also at this time. The auctioneer will be Jason Sasser of Andalusia.
