Gunter picked up two points on a pair of free throws and then a basket from Abbie McDuffie put Pleasant Home up 39-26.

The Lady Eagles were then able to hold off the Lady Panthers in the final minutes to earn a 45-23 victory.

Gunter led the Lady Eagles with 19 points.

Bulger finished the night with 12 points and Baldwin tacked on 11 points.

“I was extremely pleased,” Pleasant Home head coach Tony Wilson said. “We are capable of doing exactly what we did tonight. We’ve got other people that can score besides River (Baldwin). Those girls (Bulger and Gunter) stepped up tonight and they did it. I was real proud of them. They hit some big shots early on. In the second half, we didn’t want to really get into a push it type situation, but we got some shots. We struggled a little bit in the second half, but overall I’m pleased with it.”

With the win, the Lady Eagles will take on Florala on Monday at 7 p.m., in Pleasant Home.
