Saints split Saturday series

The LBWCC Saints’ baseball team split Saturday’s series with the Wallace-Hanceville.

GAME ONE
WALLACE 12,

LBWCC 1

In the first game of the day, Wallace-Hanceville jumped out front in the opening frame and cruised to 12-1 victory.

Parker Griffen drove in the lone run for the Saints and finished the game 1-for-2

Reid Whitaker and Cobey Hawthorne had one hit each.

GAME TWO

LBWCC 3,

WALLACE 2

In the final game of the day, the Saints held off Wallace-Hanceville for a 3-2 victory.

Wallace went up 1-0 in the top of the second inning, but the Saints used a pair of long balls from Russ Carpenter and Bryson Gandy to go up 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning.

The Saints went up 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jesse Hall scored on a wild pitch.

Jonathan Palmer, Hunter Phillips, Carpenter and Gandy each picked up one hit in the game.

Landon Pritchett picked up the win for the Saints and Cody Herring earned the save.
