The Florala Wildcats put up a fight, but saw their season come to an end after a 71-62 loss to Georgiana on Tuesday night in the Class 1A Southwest sub regionals in Georgiana.

Both teams came out battling, with neither team willing to give ground.

Florala stayed within striking distance of the Panthers, but was unable to deny them a fifth-straight trip to the Southwest Regional.

With just three minutes left in the game, Florala only trailed 61-58, but missed a few opportunities down the stretch.

Needing stops, the Wildcats began sending to the Panthers to the free-throw line late in the game.

The Panthers were able to take advantage of their opportunities at the charity stripe.
“We played toe-to-toe with them,” Wildcats’ head coach Troy Turman said. “We fought.”
