The Straughn Tigers never gave up the fight, but fell 14-2 to the Brantley Bulldogs on Tuesday night in Straughn.

Brantley opened up the game with authority as a double from Bryce Dunn scored Jake Kilcrease for the first run of the game.

Grant “Bull” Odom picked up a solid hit and then a single from Carson Jones gave Brantley a 4-0 lead after a half inning of play.

Caleb Meredith racked a single for the Tigers to start the bottom half of the first inning and moved up to third after walks to Clay Ashberry and Dale Coleman.

The Tigers, however, were unable to push across a run.

J. Kilcrease picked up a one-out single in the top of the seconds and then came around to score on a hit from Greyson Layton.

Tucker Kilcrease moved Layton to second and then Layton scored on a single from Dunn.

In the bottom of the third inning, Straughn got a spark with a double from Bryant Harper.

Ashberry then scorched a ball off of the fence in left to score Harper.

Straughn picked up another run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jeb Thomasson drove in Mason Turner.

Brantley added three runs in the top of the fifth to finish off the 14-2 victory.
