Brantley outlast Opp Bobcats in extra innings

The Opp Bobcats put up a strong fight, but Brantley rallied late for a 5-4 victory on Thursday night in Opp.

Opp opened up the game strong and quickly built a solid lead.

The Bobcats added to their lead and went up 4-1 going into the top of the sixth inning.

In the top of the sixth inning, the Bobcats committed a pair of errors to let the Bulldogs creep back into the game.

Opp then committed another error in the top of the seventh inning allowed the Bulldogs to tie the game.

Opp had one more chance to end the game in regulation, but couldn’t push across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Brantley loaded the bases in the top of the eighth inning and then drew a walk to score the go-ahead run.

Opp was unable to get anything going in the bottom of the eighth inning as the fell 5-4.

Cody Walsh finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs score and reached twice off of errors.

Taylor Duffell pitched six strong innings for the Bobcats allowing just four hits and three runs.
