Jack Corbitt Soles, Jr.

Jack Corbitt Soles, Jr., age 67, of Natchez, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Glenburney Nursing Home in Natchez. He was born Friday, November 23, 1951 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home in Andalusia. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Pastor John Eiland will officiate. The Mississippi Funeral and Cremation Society and Foreman Funeral Home, Andalusia are in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Soles was a 1969 graduate of Natchez-Adams High School and earned his associate degree in respiratory therapy in 1999 from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He also attended Hinds Jr. College, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Southern Mississippi where he studied photojournalism. Before becoming a certified respiratory therapist working in the Miss-Lou area, Jack worked at The Clarion-Ledger, the Cock of the Walk, and Natchez Market.

Mr. Soles enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing and camping. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed nonfiction, such as history, unsolved mysteries and biographies. He loved living in the South and exploring its history. Jack was known for his curious nature, his intelligence, and his wit. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Corbitt Soles Sr. and Eleanor Mae Kilpatrick Soles.

Survivors include his sisters, Cynthia Goodin (Tony) of LaFrance, South Carolina, and Linda Stone (Robin) of Hannibal, Missouri. Survivors also include four nieces and nephews, three great nephews, and numerous cousins.
