LBWCC Saints sweep Warhawks on road

The LBWCC Saints’ baseball team came away with a sweep over the Coastal Alabama East Warhawks on Thursday in Brewton.

GAME ONE

LBWCC 8,

COASTAL EAST 2

In the opening game of the series, the Saints picked up an 8-2 victory.

The Saints grabbed the lead in the top of the fourth inning when Jesse Hall came around to score off of an error.

The Warhawks tied the game 1-1 after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Saints got the bats going as they took a commanding lead.

Devin Jiles plated a pair of runs when he drove a double to left field.

Reid Whitaker drove in Jiles with a single and then a single from Hall allowed Bryson Gandy to score to put LBWCC up 5-1.

LBWCC added three more runs in the top of the seventh to cap off the win.

Jarius Colley and Jiles drove in two runs each in the win.

GAME TWO

LBWCC 13, 0COASTAL EAST 2

The Saints finished off the two-game sweep with a 13-2 victory in the final game of the series.

LBWCC went up 1-0 in the top of the second inning after a run scored off of an error.

In the top of the third inning, the Saints scored a run off a double from Russ Carpenter.

LBWCC then scored six-straight runs off of two bases loaded walks and four batters hit with the bases loaded.

Trevor Shelton led the Saints going 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Parker Griffin and Carpenter drove in two runs each.

Hall finished the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Jiles went 1-for-1 with three runs scored, one walk and one RBI.
