BULLDOG BATS HEATING UP: Andy picked up a pair of victories on Saturday

The Andalusia Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins over Theodore and Opp on Saturday in Andalusia.

ANDALUSIA 7,

THEODORE 4

In the first game of the day, the Bulldogs grabbed an early lead and battled on for a 7-4 win.

Brennan Strong worked a strong top of the first on the mound and then the Bulldogs went to work with their bats.

Gill Morgan wasted little time giving Andalusia a lead when he crushed a solo home run over the fence in right field.

Theodore then went up 2-1 in the top of the second inning.

Strong walked to start the bottom of the second and then moved to second on a single from J.W. Jones.

Ayden Amis then ripped a double to center to put Andalusia up 3-2.

After Theodore tied the game in the top of the fifth inning, G. Morgan gave the Bulldogs back the lead with his second home run of the game.

Jacob Cravey picked up a one-out single and then Hogan Nichols used the long ball to give the Bulldogs a 6-3 lead.

Amis drove in his third run of the game with an RBI single to put Andalusia up 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth.

ANDALUSIA 3,

OPP 2

Andalusia finished off the day with a 3-2 victory over the Opp Bobcats.

In the bottom of the third inning, Amis reached on a one-out walk and then moved to second on single from G. Morgan.

A double from Cravey then gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

Chip Morgan came through with a two-out single that scored G. Morgan and Gage Messick to put Andalusia on top 3-0.

Opp came charging back in the top of the sixth inning.

A single to Logan Ross and then walks to Lane Ballard and Jesse Coon loaded the bases for the Bobcats.

Trey Spurlin drove in Ross with a fielder’s choice to C. Morgan that allowed Ross to score.

River Day then came through with a single that scored Ballard and Coon to bring the Bobcats within one run of Andalusia.

The Bulldogs were able to hold off the Bobcats to pick up the 3-2 victory.
