The Opp City Council on Monday agreed to purchase $6,000 chemical pump for the new pool.

“We have been having a lot of chemical problems with the pool,” Mayor Becky Bracke said. “We need to go ahead and get this done because we are bringing in the new swim team and they need somewhere to practice.”

The pump will be used to regulate the chemical balances in the pool.

The council also:

  • Appointed Ben Cooper to the Zoning Board.
  • Appointed Amanda Henderson and Alana Cook to the Downtown Redevelopment Authority board.
  • Approved a resolution for the Airport Authority.
