Straughn tops Red Level

The Straughn Lady Tigers picked up a 5-3 win over the Red Level Lady Tigers on Saturday in Straughn.

Straughn loaded the bases up in the top of the first inning and then got a sacrifice fly from Allison Hawkins to give them a 1-0 lead.

Abbi Hataway reached for Straughn in the top of the second inning and then came around to score on a fielder’s choice from Mikelyn Mackoff.

In the top of the fifth inning, Mackoff walked to start the frame and then moved to third on a single.

Straughn loaded the bases with a walk to Emmaleigh Ray and then a double off of the bat of Hawkins put them up 5-0.

Jayla Poindexter singled with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and moved to second on a single from Graysie Lee.

Kaitlyn Beverly then drove in Poindexter with a single.

Olivia Whitefield followed with a walk and then a single from Alexis Perdue cut the Straughn lead down to 5-3.

Straughn was able to hold on down the stretch to pick up the 5-3 win.
