Florala downs Kinston

The Florala Wildcats picked up a 5-1 area victory over the Kinston Bulldogs on Tuesday night in Kinston.

The starting pitching for both teams kept things scoreless for the first three innings of the game.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Wildcats loaded the bases on a pair of walks and a hit batter.

Florala took the lead when Lee Stewart was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.

In the top of the fifth inning, Dylan Hobby singled with two outs and then singles from Logan West and Hunter Adams loaded the bases.

Nealand Stone followed with a double to left field that had the Wildcats out front 3-0.

Jacob Hammac tacked on an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning to put his team up 4-0.

Hammac later scored on a steal of home.

Stone finished the game 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Hammac picked up the win on the mound as he struck out eight batters in five and one-third innings of work.
