Lady Saints open conference play with victory

The LBWCC Lady Saints’ softball team picked up an 8-7 win in their final at bat on Tuesday against Chattahoochee Valley Community College Lady Pirates in the opening conference game of the year.

Chatt Valley went up 2-0 in the top of the first inning.

Loryn Praytor was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the first inning.

Laniey Wells moved her over to third with a bunt.

Praytor and Wells both came around to score on passed balls to tie the game.

In the top of the second inning, Betsy Powell kept the game tied with a pair of strike outs.

Lindsey Fox opened up the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run to put LBWCC up 1-0.

Chatt Valley tied the game in the top of the fifth inning with a two-out single.

Alexus Grffin singled to start the bottom of the fifth inning and moved up to third on a single from Praytor.

The Lady Saints loaded the bases when Wells drew a walk.

Vaughn put the Lady Saints up 4-3 with a single to right field.

LBWCC picked up two more runs off of an error and a sacrifice fly.

Chatt Valley scratched back and went up 7-6 in the top of the sixth.

Vaughn and Millie Manring singled to start the bottom of the seventh inning.

Vaughn came around to score off of a passed ball to tie the game.

Manring moved to third off of an error and then came around to score off of an error to give the Lady Saints an 8-7 victory.
