Tabby D’s Restaurant is now offering a delivery service to businesses within the city limits.
Tabitha Stacks from Tabby D’s said that she wanted to stand out from other restaurants, which is why she came up with the idea.
“There are so many other restaurants in town,” Stacks said. “So we just wanted to do something that stands out from them. There are so many restaurants that offer so many other different things, so we wanted to do something different that is unique to us.”
The restaurant started offering the delivery services last Thursday and Stacks said that the response has been overwhelming.
“Friday we didn’t really have anything,” Stacks said. “But Thursday was crazy. I guess because we were going into Spring Break on Friday that’s why it was slow. There has been a lot of positive feedback from the community though.”
Stacks said that right now they are only providing the delivery service for businesses within the city limits.
“You never know where you’re sending your employees if you include everybody,” Stacks said. “Also, you risk falling behind in the actual restaurant and falling behind on deliveries, so we are keeping it for businesses only at the moment.”
Right now, Stacks is the only delivery person and she said it is quite stressful at times.
“It is crazy because I am cooking and delivering most days,” Stacks said. “I will be cooking then get a big delivery and it gets overwhelming, so we might be looking to add another delivery person soon.”
Stacks said that she wanted to start the delivery service for people that are stuck at work and can’t get lunch.
“Over the years, people have come up to me and talked about maybe delivering,” Stacks said. “So I started thinking about people who can’t leave the office, like if they work at a hospital or something, and thought this would be a great opportunity for them.”
The minimum total for a delivery order is $25. The delivered $11.25 lunch includes a buffet plate, salad, dessert and drink. With a regular buffet plate being $11.25, Stacks said that usually the orders will have to include at least three plates to meet the delivery minimum.
Currently there are two delivery times, one at 11:45 a.m., and another at 12:45. Stacks said that there is a deadline for those that wish to order for those delivery times, 11:25 a.m., for the 11:45 a.m. delivery time and 12:25 p.m., for the 12:45 p.m., delivery time.
“I would like to thank all of our employees,” Stacks said. “They have been great and very helpful while we have been trying this out.”
