The Andalusia City Council on Tuesday authorized the refinancing of a 2010 bond issue used to build SaeHaeSung’s existing facility.

Mayor Earl Johnson explained that the company’s lease payment covers the bond payment. With the refinancing of the $5.5 million outstanding on the original bond issue, the city will net $300,000 in cash.

In other business, the council:

• agreed to buy 100 Christmas decoration lights for a portion of the bypass to match those used downtown. Johnson said more will be added each year. The snowflakes to be used on the bypass are 8 feet wide, and feature brighter LED lights designed to be used in areas where there is competing lighting.

• agreed to participate in the 2019 statewide Back to School tax holiday.
