Red Level earns playoff spot

The Red Level Tigers clinched a playoff spot after downing the Pleasant Home Eagles 6-0 on Wednesday night in Red Level.

James Austin Hawkins singled with one out to start the top of the first for Pleasant Home.

Red Level’s Kade Green then struck out a batter and got a ground out to end the opening frame.

Chance Russell gave the Tigers the lead when he drove in Braxton Lee with a single in the bottom of the first inning.

At the end of the first inning, Red Level was on top 2-0.

Red Level got things going with a single from Zavier Phillips in the bottom of the third inning.

Christian Spears followed with a triple to put the Tigers on top 3-0.

A single from Malikye Wright gave Red Level a 4-0 advantage.

Lee kept the hit parade going with an RBI double to left field.

After three innings of play, the Tigers were on top 5-0.

Red Level’s final run came in the bottom of the sixth inning after Russell reached with a two-out triple and then scored off of an error.

“This was a big win for us as it secured a spot for us in the playoffs,” Smith said. “I’m really proud of the way our guys competed. We hit the ball well and Kade Green pitched a great game for us.”

Lee finished the game 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

Tucker Livings, Bryson Pate, and Russell had two hits each.

Russell, Phillips, Spears and Wright drove in one run each.

Green earned the win on the mound after allowing just four hits, no runs and four strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Brendan Douglas led the Eagles at the plate going 2-for-3.

Hawkins and Nathan Fowler finished with one hit each.
