River Falls woman charged with attempted murder

A local woman has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a Friday night incident on Gantt Road in River Falls.

River Falls Police Chief Cody Warren said the RFBD, Gantt Police Department, and Covington County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a shooting on Gantt Road in River Falls. When they arrived, they found a 71-year-old man who was suffering from wounds caused by a firearm and a sharp interest.

Warren said the scene was turned over to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), at the request of the River Falls Police Department.

Officers were able to identify a suspect, who was apprehended a few hours later.

Zhanna Shaye Bolling of River Falls, is charged with attempted murder and is being held in the Covington County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, River Falls Police Department, Covington County Sheriff’s Department, Covington County Sheriff’s Reserves, Covington County District Attorney’s Office, Gantt Police Department, Andalusia Police Department, Georgiana Police Department, and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.

The Covington County Sheriff’s Department enlisted the help of the public in finding Bolling and a second person of interest on Friday night. The second person has not been charge.
