more earthquakes recorded in Escambia County

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed two earthquakes Thursday in Escambia County, Ala.

The larger earthquake was a magnitude 2.8 earthquake centered near Chavers Creek Road and Big Escambia Creek. Residents of the Pollard, Keego, Foshee and Wolf Log communities reported feeling the ground shaking at about 3:11 p.m.

Earlier in the day, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred  Both were centered approximately eight to nine miles north of Flomaton.
