Opp Bobcats rally past Straughn

The Opp Bobcats rallied in the middle innings to knock off Straughn 5-3 on Thursday night in Opp.

Brady Hamrac reached off of an error to start the top of the first inning for Straughn.

Hamrac then came around to score on a double steal with Dale Coleman to put the Tigers up 1-0.

In the top of the third inning, Bryant Harper drew a one-out walk for the Tigers and then moved to second when Coleman was hit with a pitch.

Ashberry followed with a single to score Harper.

Logan Cobb then drove in Coleman with a single.

Opp got things rolling in the bottom of the third inning when Lane Ballard drove in Brady James with a single to right field.

Opp inched back in the game with a run-scoring single from Jesse Coon and then tied the game on a fielder’s choice.

Opp took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Dalton Grider drove in Ballard with a line drive to left field.

Grider then came around to score on passed ball for the final run of the game.

Grider finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Ashberry and Cobb picked up one hit and drove in one run each for Straughn.
