Covington County property owners only have five days left to pay off their 2018 taxes before an auction is held for property on which taxes are still owed.

To date, the Covington County Revenue Commission office has only $40,000 in property taxes due on 195 parcels left to collect.

The office started with $12,259,512.26 due.

Property owners have until 8 a.m. on Mon., May 20, to pay. The auction begins at 10 a.m. at the Covington County Courthouse.

Payments may be made by mail or in person. To pay online or pay by credit card in the office, there will be a 2.35 percent processing fee.

The office is open from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m.
