The Andalusia High School football team wrapped up spring practice on Friday afternoon with the Red/White scrimmage game.

“For eight days, I think it culminated exactly the way we could have scripted it,” Bulldog head coach Trent Taylor said. “There were times when offensively we did good things and there were times defensively that we did some good things.”

Taylor said they are still working to find out what kind of team this group can be.

“You know you say that we have the same staff for five years now and everything should be in place,” Taylor said. “What’s so unique about high school football is that you have to mold what you are doing depending on your personnel. There have been quite a few changes on both sides. It has been a learning process for everybody. The attitude and energy has been great all three weeks. I’m really proud of this group and the way they have responded.”

During the spring, Taylor said they have been looking for players that will help them in different areas.

“I think we have found some young guys that are going to be able to help us in some areas,” Taylor said. “That’s one of the goals that you go into spring looking for. There are still some unanswered questions. I think Coach Windham has the toughest job as offensive line coach. We have three guys we have to replace there and I there have been four or five guys that have done a good job. Will get into this summer and allow those guys to separate themselves a bit. It really has been a good three weeks of spring practice. The attitudes of these guys has been great.”

Andalusia opens the season at home on Aug. 23 against Saraland High School.
